Nancy Hoffmann’s Memories

Nancy Hoffmann started coming up to Juddville, WI as a four-year old in 1949. After that, she came regularly during summers to a small cabin her parents Augie and Mary built by hand on Juddville Road. The Hoffmann property was one mile east of Hwy 42, at the top of a long uphill, on the south side of the road. Nancy’s parents and a group of friends from the Chicago area bought adjacent properties on Juddville Road in 1940 with the intent of starting a commune. That did not come to fruition, but it was not due to lack of effort from Nancy’s father Augie. Nancy treasures the time she spent in Juddville and Door County during her childhood and later as an adult. Click HERE to read Nancy’s unique and entertaining Juddville recollections.

Below is a collection of Nancy Hoffmann’s photos mostly from her family’s summers in Juddville during the 1940s and 50s.
