Cemeteries

There are two cemeteries in Juddville today. The older of the two is the Juddville Cemetery, which dates back to the 1860’s, and the other being St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, which dates back to the early 1900s.

Juddville Cemetery. The earliest headstone in the Juddville Cemetery, that of the infant Emily E. Burr who died at the age of 19 days, dates back to 1865, the year the Civil War ended. The cemetery is located on Orchard Road just north of Peninsula Players Road.

St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. The earliest grave in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery with a death date that is legible is that of Jonas Dalquist, who died in 1907. There are other graves in the cemetery that may be older, but they do not have legible death dates. The cemetery is located just east of the church on Juddville Road, about a quarter mile east of Highway 42. The church itself was built in 1900.
